Exodous 12:43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinanceof the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof: 44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcisedhim, then shall he eat thereof. 45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. 46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of theflesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof. 47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. 48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passoverto the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come nearand keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcisedperson shall eat thereof. 49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger thatsojourneth among you.
Acts 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren,and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannotbe saved. 2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputationwith them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other ofthem, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about thisquestion. 3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Pheniceand Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused greatjoy unto all the brethren. 4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church,and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God haddone with them. 5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed,saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keepthe law of Moses. 6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them,Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice amongus, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, andbelieve. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them theHoly Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples,which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shallbe saved, even as they. 12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas andPaul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentilesby them. 13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men andbrethren, hearken unto me: 14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, totake out of them a people for his name. 15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David,which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I willset it up: 17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles,upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. 18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. 19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from amongthe Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols,and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, beingread in the synagogues every sabbath day. 22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to sendchosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely,Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren: 23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and eldersand brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles inAntioch and Syria and Cilicia. 24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us havetroubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised,and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosenmen unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the samethings by mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greaterburden than these necessary things; 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and fromthings strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves,ye shall do well. Fare ye well. 30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they hadgathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle: 31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
Acts 16:1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciplewas there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess,and believed; but his father was a Greek: 2 Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised himbecause of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all thathis father was a Greek.
Acts 21:18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and allthe elders were present. 19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things Godhad wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. 20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thouseest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; andthey are all zealous of the law: 21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews whichare among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcisetheir children, neither to walk after the customs. 22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for theywill hear that thou art come. 23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have avow on them; 24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them,that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereofthey were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself alsowalkest orderly, and keepest the law. 25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concludedthat they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves fromthings offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. 26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with thementered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification,until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
Romans 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: butif thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. 26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shallnot his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law,judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision,which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of theheart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men,but of God.
Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, untowhom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sinsare covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcisionalso? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision?Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousnessof the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be thefather of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousnessmight be imputed unto them also: 12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcisiononly, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,which he had being yet uncircumcised. 13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not toAbraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousnessof faith.
1 Corinthians 7:18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not becomeuncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keepingof the commandments of God. 20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
Galatians 2:3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelledto be circumcised:
Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christshall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtorto do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justifiedby the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision;but faith which worketh by love. 7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwiseminded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever hebe. 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution?then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
Galatians 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, theyconstrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecutionfor the cross of Christ. 13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desireto have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. 14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord JesusChrist, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision,but a new creature.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vaindeceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, andnot after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality andpower: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision ofChrist: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him throughthe faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh,hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
